Some places just feel like home, even before you step out of the car. This sweet family has been coming to their cabin near Electric Mountain Lodge in Paonia, Colorado, for years, and it’s easy to see why. Tucked into a peaceful meadow bursting with wildflowers and framed by stunning mountain views, their special spot is pure Colorado magic.

This year, I had the honor of photographing their time together just before the 4th of July—right as the wildflowers hit their peak and the light danced across the field most beautifully. There’s something incredibly meaningful about documenting a family in a place where memories have been made year after year. You can feel the love here, not just for each other, but for the land, the cabin, and the quiet moments shared away from the rush of everyday life.

Sessions like this remind me why I do what I do. It’s not just about the perfect pose or light—it’s about capturing the feeling of being together in a place that means something real. And this location? Absolutely one of my favorites to date.
